We want to avoid carrying weight to give our knees the best possible chance on our 240km Scooter challenge, so packing light was essential for this trip. Thanks to OverBoard, we were able to kit out our scooters with 2 front waterproof panniers each.  At 12L each, the panniers are surprisingly spacious, leaving us with ample of space so we even managed to squeeze in a sneaky luxury – a book! Here’s our full kit list:

Bike adventure packing list

• 1 Tarp
• 2 x Mountain Hardware Bivouac bags
• 2 x Mountain Equipment down 3 season sleeping bags (I’m a cold sleeper!)
• 2 x Thermarest inflatable roll mats
• 2 x Waterproof jackets
• Trousers, sports shorts, Scoot the Loop T-shirt, 2 pairs of socks, spare underwear, fleece each – in a Exped waterproof stuff sack
• 2 x Asics Trail running shoes
• 2 x Rab gloves
• 2 x fleece hats
• 2 x Buff’s
• 2 x Petzl headtorch with spare batteries (double up as potential scooter lights for the night)
• 1 x Olympus Tough camera with spare batteries and waterproof pouch
• Ipad and iPhone with back up battery pack
• 1 Toothbrush and 1 toothpaste
• First Aid kit (on reflection reduced to just a blister pack and paracetamol)

• 4 x Over Board front panniers
• Camel Back 3L hydration system
• 2 x HardNutz helmets
• 1 x Kriptonite Lock
• 1 x bike phone holder
