Cheshire has loads to offer visotrs. From rural pictureque villages and Industrial Revolution heritage. It’s close to Manchester and Liverpool and a great place to base yourself for visiting the Peak District. There’s something for everyone – families, romantic couples and history lovers alike.

  • Visit Chester Cathedral to soak up beautiful architecture and some medieval history.
  • Lyme Park is a beautiful 1946 National Trust house and grounds with a lovely cafe where you can stop for tea and cake.
  • One of my favourite things to do in Chesire is to visit Jodrell Bank, an impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site with an observatory.
  • For keen outdoor enthusiasts, head to the stunning Peak District National Park for hikes, bike rides, or try your hand at rock climbing.

I adore staying in tree houses and cabins. They are always my go-to for special occasions when I want an extra memorable stay. They tend to be at the more expensive end of glamping but are usually full of luxurious comforts, are picturesque and cosy, and offer the same closeness to nature as tents and pods.

Although the price tag for this lakeside glamping spot is expensive, it’s well worth your money. The cabin has a king-size bed, modern amenities, log burners, heaters, en suite and spectacular views right on your private lake. Open year-round, I can’t recommend this amazing cabin enough.

12. Lazy Bear Hideaway

The Lazy Bear Hideaway is another glamping cabin that will suit your vacation needs. This Nordic-style space is fully furnished with a cosy interior and is located in the secluded woodlands. So, you’ll have plenty to explore during your stay! Unlike some of the other options listed in this guide, though, Lazy Bear is truly off-the-grid. 

There is no wifi or electricity. Instead, you’ll cook over the open fire or in the outdoor kitchen. Solar power and gas are available for charging your devices, powering the fridge, and heating. However, you are encouraged to live in the moment and bask in rustic living.
