Join Bex Band for Write That Book! A 2-part online webinar for anyone interested in writing a book and learning more about how to structure, write and publish a book.

About Bex

Bex Band is an author, speaker and founder of the non-profit Love Her Wild – the UK’s largest women’s adventure community. She was named one of the UK’s Top 30 Inspirational Entrepreneurs by Business Leader and won the Next Generation Awards. Her blog has received over 1.5million readers.

Bex’s first book, the adventure memoir Three Stripes South, was published in 2022 by Bradt. It tells the story of her 1000km hike the length of Israel and how this led her to launch Love Her Wild. The book reached the Amazon Bestseller spot in all its categories on the day of release, was shortlisted for the TGO Outdoor Book Awards and won the 2022 Shextreme Book Award. Writing the book has led to Bex giving talks all over the country (and even some overseas)….including charging on the main stage of the Cheltenham Literature Festival.

Bex’s second book, Gather: How to Build Mission-Driven Communities, will be published by Post Hill Press in spring 2023. And she’s just signed for book number 3, Family Adventures, with Bloomsbury!

Write That Book!

Spread across 2 evenings, Bex will share her (honest and open) experience of becoming a published author and making her dreams of writing a book a reality; covering topics from writing techniques to bagging yourself a literary agent. You’ll leave with a good understanding of the publishing process and the confidence to take the steps needed to make your own book ambitions a reality. The evenings will roughly cover:

Evening 1:

• Understanding your motivations for writing a book
• How much talent do you really need?
• How do you decide and lay down a structure?
• Techniques for writing and staying motivated
• Understanding literary agents: Do I need one? How do I get one?

Evening 2:

• Book proposals
• Publishing options and an overview of what publishing looks like
• Marketing your book
• Common challenges authors face

Both evenings will have time for Q&A throughout.

Need to know

Although the webinars will be happening live to allow for Q&A, they will also be recorded and available for 2 weeks after the event for anyone that can’t make them in person.

Both webinars will be starting promptly at 7pm – please lot on at least 10 minutes before (bring a notepad and pen!). There will a short 10-minute break at 8pm.
